Navitas Skilled Futures’ SEE Program Helps Letay Build Job‑Ready Skills.

By Pallabi Patra | June 2, 2026

“Learning English through the SEE Program has made me more self-reliant. I do not always have to ask for help like I used to.”

We are delighted to celebrate the inspiring journey of Letay, whose dedication, resilience, and commitment has led to an incredible milestone. With a clear goal in mind to improve her English, secure full-time employment, and paying off her mortgage, Letay embraced every opportunity to learn and grow.

Letay was referred to Navitas Skilled Futures (NSF) through her Workforce Australia provider to learn Digital Literacy. Letay then decided to join Navitas Skilled Futures Werribee College and enrol in the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program in 2025.

The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.

Taking the First Step

Although, Letay initially felt unsure of what to expect, her previous study experience assured her to take that important first step. Like many learners, Letay felt a little nervous on her first day, but those feelings quickly faded.

“I was nervous about this, but it was easy to enrol. I just had to complete a pre-training assessment and fill in forms. I was made to feel comfortable straight away. I met some nice people, and we help each other in class,” Letay shared.

A key part of Letay’s journey has been the friendships she formed along the way. The classroom became more than just a place to learn English; it became her supportive community.

“I made a lot of friends at Navitas. We talk outside of class now, and we always share our cultures and respect each other.” These relationships not only strengthened her communication skills but also enriched her sense of belonging.

Developing Independence Through Learning

Through consistent effort and daily practice, Letay has made remarkable progress in her English skills. This growth has had a meaningful impact on her confidence and independence.

“Learning English through the SEE Program has made me more self-reliant. I do not always have to ask for help like I used to.” Along the way, she has also embraced Australian culture— “G’day” becoming her favourite local expression.

Letay’s success has been supported through the SEE Program, which offers free training to help people build their language, literacy, numeracy, and digital skills. The program is designed to support participants in improving communication and increasing their employability chances.

A Milestone Achievement

We are proud to share that Letay has secured a casual job in an aged care centre, an exciting and well-deserved achievement. This opportunity not only provides valuable work experience but also allows Letay to contribute meaningfully to the community.

Even more inspiring is her commitment to continuing her education. Despite her new role, Letay remains dedicated to attending English classes whenever she is not working, demonstrating her determination to keep improving and progressing towards her goals.

Through flexible learning options and supportive classroom environments, the SEE Program empowers learners like Letay to overcome barriers, connect with others, and achieve meaningful outcomes that extends beyond the classroom.

Celebrating Success

Letay’s story is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through perseverance, support, and a willingness to step outside one’s comfort zone. Her journey inspires not only her classmates but everyone around her.

We look forward to seeing her continue to grow, thrive, and achieve even more in the future.
