Who can join Pathways to Work?
You may be eligible for free PTW (SLPET*), and free childcare if you:
- Are in AMEP Pre-employment stream.
- Attended AMEP in the past 12 months.
- Made progress in class.
- Feel settled in Australia.
- Have good communication skills.
- Have commitment to attend class
- Want to work in Australia.
- Are eligible for the SEE Program
*Settlement Language Pathways to Employment & Training (SLPET) is a sub-program of the AMEP, which is funded by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs.

2. How do I enrol in the Pathways to Work (PtW/SLPET) program?
Complete our PtW enquiry form or call 1300 798 111 to speak with someone in your own language. You generally need to be enrolled in the AMEP or have attended within the past 12 months, have suitable workplace communication skills and be ready for employment. Our team will check your eligibility and guide you through enrolment.
3. How do I start the Pathways to Work (PtW/SLPET) program?
To start the Pathways to Work program, complete an enquiry and meet with our friendly team. We will review your AMEP participation, English level, employment goals and readiness for the workplace. If you are eligible, we will help you enrol, choose a suitable industry pathway and prepare for your classroom training and work experience placement.
4. Will I receive a certificate after completing the Pathways to Work (PtW/SLPET) program?
Successful students will receive a Statement of Attainment or certificate for the nationally recognised EAL and industry-related vocational units completed during the Pathways to Work program. This provides an official record of your accredited training alongside the practical skills and work experience gained through the program.
5. Where can I study the Pathways to Work (PtW/SLPET) program
You can study the Pathways to Work program at selected Navitas Skilled Futures colleges in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. Visit our colleges page to view campus locations, or contact our team to find out where PtW is currently available and which industry pathway and location best suit your employment goals.
6. How much does the Pathways to Work (PtW/SLPET) program cost?
The Pathways to Work program is free for eligible participants because it is funded through the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP). Eligible migrants and refugees can access up to 200 hours of employment-focused English training and work experience at no cost. Free childcare may also be available while you attend classes.
