Navitas Skilled Futures (NSF) recently hosted a poster competition across its colleges on the theme ‘Why I Love Navitas,’ inviting students to share their experiences and perspectives creatively. The initiative saw strong engagement and high-quality submissions.

Students consistently described their NSF journey as transformative and life changing experience, helping them develop language skills, confidence, and social connections. Students reflected on the opportunity to learn in a diverse and multicultural environment, where they could meet people from around the world, share experiences, and learn from one another.

The artworks showed appreciation for NSF teachers delivering tailored and practical guidance to help students build their skills, confidence and prepare for future opportunities such as work or further study. Students thanked teachers by portraying how kind, patient, caring, and supportive they have been.

Numerous posters had powerful stories of migration about the students’ journey of arriving in Australia, starting fresh, building a new life, creating a future, working towards goals, and having opportunities. Students talked about how NSF helps them build new beginnings by providing English language training, digital and work skills, and practical life skills, to transition into their new community, work, or further education.

The second strongest messaging that appeared was confidence and personal growth. The posters showed how Navitas helped them become confident, speak English without fear, learn digital and numeracy skills, overcome challenges, and believe in themselves.
Rather than simply listing program features, the posters depicted their transformation journeys, with several effectively using a “before and after” narrative style to show how their confidence, skills and outlook had developed during their time at NSF.
