Her colourful classroom in the top right-hand corner of the college is often buzzing with movement, laughter and chatter. But don’t mistake that for frivolity. This is a class that gets stuff done. And the fact that students enjoy doing it means they turn up each day, they knuckle down and they achieve results – and not just in language, literacy and digital skills.
Young leader to advocate for others in ambassador role

A Navitas Skilled Futures Fairfield student will be able to realise her mission of helping other young migrants and refugees after being accepted as a youth ambassador at MYAN (Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network).
Odette Siuofi, 20, said she was “very proud” to be chosen as a representative of MYAN’s NSW Youth Ambassador Network, which will provide her with leadership and professional development opportunities as well as the ability to engage in advocacy for young migrants and refugees at a national level.
Art at the heart of Refugee Week

It was a colourful start to Refugee Week at Fairfield on Monday with the launch of “Our Journey to Unity”, an innovative art project by the college’s youth class.
The collaborative project between Navitas and Fairfield City Council saw the students’ vibrant perspective drawings displayed at the college and in a public installation on the footpath at a prominent intersection in the CBD.
Short Course Empowers Female Refugees With Digital Skills

Navitas Skilled Futures, in collaboration with Settlement Services International (SSI), has helped make everyday life activities easier for female refugees through a short practical course tailored specifically to their needs.
The course gave students the confidence to use essential smartphone applications and access government services.
