Resources for Trainers
A range of useful resources to be shared for all trainers to be used in the classroom
Specialist resources for all programs
Navitas Skilled Futures has developed a range specialised resources for students in all our programs.
These resources are designed to assist students with adapting to all facets of life in Australia, prioritising safety in their local communities. We feel these resources should be shared for all to use in their classrooms.
The following examples can be used by any trainer or ESOL teacher for their classes. They utilise virtual tours to bring greater immersion of the learners.
A Day in the Life of Emergency Services NSW
A day in the life of emergency services NSW is an information series that provides students with an immersive experience of three workplaces within the emergency services of NSW. These are:
- A day in the life of a NSW police officer
- A day in the life of a NSW fire & rescue firefighter
- A day in the life of 000 call takers
The resources have been created to address the employment and settlement needs of new arrivals to Australia by giving them an understanding of different skills and qualities required by people in the emergency services, as well as a virtual tour of the workplace. They also help new arrivals learn about the police in Australia, fire safety in the home, and what to expect when you call 000.
All these modules have been created by Navitas Skilled Futures and are proudly supported by all arms of the emergency services.
AMEP Beach Safety Modules
AMEP beach safety modules highlight an important part of delivering the Adult Migrant English Program, with its ultimate aim being drowning prevention through education. Migrants make up part of the at-risk group of drownings, and so including modules around beach safety as part of delivery is a logical choice.
All modules were created by Navitas Skilled Futures and are supported by Surf Life Saving NSW.
