Madina’s Pathway Towards Growth and Workplace Readiness with Navitas Skilled Futures.

“If you want to study in a supportive place with excellent teachers and opportunities to gain experience and connect with the community, I recommend Navitas Skilled Futures. It is a great place to improve your English and grow.”

Arriving in Australia from Afghanistan marked the beginning of a new chapter for Madina, one filled with hope, determination, and desire to build a better future. Like many new arrivals, she knew that improving her English was essential to communicating in daily life and unlocking new opportunities.
After hearing about Navitas Skilled Futures, she decided to enrol in the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program in January 2025 at the Paramatta college to improve and develop her Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills.
The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
Clear Goals, Strong Motivation
Madina’s ambition was clear, to improve her LLND skills required to continue her education and pursue a career in customer service as a Customer Care Officer.
She wanted to have a better understanding of the everyday conversations and develop effective communication skills that would help her succeed in the workplace. With a keen sense of purpose, she committed herself fully to her learning journey, embracing every opportunity to improve her skills.
Seeing Real Progress
Since starting her learning at NSF, Madina has made remarkable progress. Her listening skills and overall understanding of English have improved significantly, allowing her to participate more actively in class and daily interactions.
She began her journey as a part-time student, balancing her studies with other commitments. Encouraged by her progress and growing confidence, she later made the decision to transition into a full-time student.
Overcoming Challenges with Support
Alongside her language classes, Madina also enrolled in computer classes to strengthen her digital skills, further preparing herself for future employment.
“I only studied up to class 3 or 4 in Afghanistan, so returning to study was challenging for me. Moving to a new country and adapting to a new culture was also difficult. With the support of teachers and activities at the NSF, I have become more confident and enjoy participating in class activities, excursions, and community events.”
At times, the journey felt overwhelming, but with resilience and determination, Madina continues to follow her dreams.
“If you want to study in a supportive place with excellent teachers and opportunities to gain experience and connect with the community, I recommend Navitas Skilled Futures. It is a great place to improve your English and grow.”
A Story of Belief and Belonging
From feeling unsure about her progress, to engaging in her studies and the wider community with so much conviction, Madina’s story is one of perseverance, growth, and possibility. It is a reminder that with encouragement and commitment, meaningful change is always within reach.
Her journey is a powerful example of what can be achieved with the right support, a welcoming learning environment, and belief in oneself.
