By Verity Rose | August 12, 2024

Are you new to Australia and looking to improve your English reading, writing and communication skills? Or have you been living here for some time, but would like support in developing your digital skills? Searching for a high-quality training provider that can also help you settle into life in a new country? You’ve come to the right place!

At Navitas Skilled Futures (NSF), we’re experts in delivering the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) to students from diverse backgrounds. We’ve been supporting migrants and refugees in developing their skills since 1990. We pride ourselves on our ability to create a community amongst our students while strengthening their English and digital literacy.

Keep reading for more information about NSF, including what sets us apart when it comes to studying the AMEP and how we can help you meet your goals.

1. We’re AMEP Specialists

Navitas Skilled Futures has delivered the AMEP for more than 25 years and has a strong history of outstanding student outcomes. We’re specialists in the AMEP and provide expert training and outcomes to our students.

While some large providers offer AMEP in addition to a large variety of other services, NSF is a specialist provider of LLND training – this is what we focus on and it ensures exceptional outcomes for our students. We have highly qualified and experienced teachers who design flexible, individualised training programs tailored to the client’s specific needs. Many students have indicated that this helps them to improve their English communication skills even faster!

We’re dedicated to providing migrants and refugees with Government-funded education programs to improve their English speaking, reading and writing skills.

Our courses are also designed to assist new Australians with developing friendships and a sense of community, enhance their digital literacy skills and secure paid employment opportunities.

To date, we’ve proudly supported over 300,000 students across Western Sydney and the Australian Capital Territory in completing the program.

2. We Prioritise Digital Skills

We know how important it is to feel confident using technology in today’s modern world, which is why we prioritise strengthening our students’ digital skills throughout our program.

At NSF, digital learning is infused throughout the program, ensuring that learners are best positioned to thrive in today’s digital world. Our teachers take the stress out of learning to use computers, iPads and virtual reality systems, ensuring our students finish their time at NSF feeling comfortable operating a variety of technologies.

NSF has a long history of digital innovation and is committed to ensuring that our students remain at the forefront of technology. Improving digital literacy skills not only allows students to enhance their job prospects, but it’s also a great way to connect with others, including NSF peers and loved ones overseas.

3. We’re Education-First

At some providers, AMEP clients can get lost among all the other students and courses. However, Navitas Skilled Futures delivers the program as our highest priority. We are fully focused on AMEP clients’ learning and support systems, so you and learning about your new life in Australia is our main concern.

We empower our students by building their skills and confidence through education first. This strong foundation helps to ensure they have a successful journey settling into Australia and achieving their goals, including securing paid employment.

Our team is highly trained to ensure that your learning is fit for your exact needs. While other providers see learning English as ‘something extra’, we see it as the main and most important thing – and we are here to support you every step of the way!

4. We’re Proud Of Our Proven Track Record

Established in 1990, Navitas Skilled Futures has been an award-winning provider of the AMEP for over two decades.

Trusted by the Australian Government to deliver life-changing courses like the Adult Migrant English Program, we’ve proudly received awards including the NSW Premier’s Multicultural Community Medal for three years in a row, which recognises the positive outcomes we continue to help our students achieve.

We’ve also received awards from partners like the Salvation Army for our support of the community.

5. We Support Local Communities

As an education provider with a passion for supporting diverse communities, it’s no surprise that Navitas Skilled Futures is heavily involved in ‘giving back’ through community partnerships that meet specific community needs.

We work with local community organisations to understand their unique requirements and build learning programs to meet them. As part of these partnerships, we provide opportunities for local community members to get involved in a variety of social activities including art exhibitions, gardening projects, sewing groups, and more.

These opportunities benefit not only our students but also their families and peers, allowing us to make a difference both inside and outside of the classroom.

6. We Offer Additional Support

Having a support network by your side is an important part of settling into life in a new country. At NSF, our courses come with access to a range of support services that will help you meet your current and future goals.

In addition to our dedicated teaching staff, the Navitas team includes Bilingual Support Assistants to help you learn in your native language and help you understand in the classroom, and Pathway Guidance Advisors who are there to support you throughout your education and employment journey.

We also offer opportunities for further study in other programs. After studying the AMEP for some time, you can progress to the Pathways to Work (PtW) program, which can provide you with vocational skills in your chosen industry, to equip you for your chosen career.
