Preparation for IELTS –
a free* AMEP short course

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an English language test for further study, migration or work.

This short course is a part of the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP), and is available to AMEP students.

If you’re planning to take an IELTS test, for any reason, this AMEP short course can assist you to be more prepared to gain your best possible result.

The thought of taking the IELTS test might have you feeling more than a little bit nervous! Taking this course will help you feel confident in your abilities and your future.

In this helpful AMEP short course you will:

• Learn about the format of the IELTS test
• Learn tips to help you fully prepare for the IELTS test
• Build speaking, listening and reading skills
• Learn how to write formal academic texts
• Practise IELTS tests using sample questions

The IELTS Preparatory Short Course is a part of the AMEP, and therefore has the same eligibility criteria as the AMEP. That means it is available to migrants with a permanent visa or an eligible temporary visa, as well as Australian citizens who previously held a permanent visa or an eligible temporary visa.

If you are eligible, this course is completely free of charge. Recent reforms mean more people are now eligible to study the program. If you’re not sure, just contact us, and we can let you know.
